We are one day away from the 2012 NFL draft. The first two picks of the draft have been locked in with Andrew Luck to the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins selecting Robert Griffin the third. The Vikings have been on the clock since the Redskins and Rams worked out a trade last month. Speculation has it that they would like to trade down, but getting the price you ask for is not as simple as it sounds. So without wasting anymore time allow me to predict the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

3)Minnesota Vikings: If the Vikings are stuck with the third overall pick there are a few ways they could go with this, but none make more sense than Corner Back, Morris Claiborne. In an extremely pass happy division this with help out that defense that ranked 31st in total defense and 26th against the pass.

4) Cleveland Browns: The Cleveland Browns have a great chance to win the NFL draft. In order to do so they must use this pick on the only Running Back worth selecting in the first round, Alabama Running Back, Trent Richardson. This helps out a rushing attack that ranked 28th in rushing last season and will take some pressure off of Colt.

5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: If the NFL draft plays out this way, which it should, then I see the Bucs wanting to try and trade down a few spots. However, assuming they keep this pick then they must draft in terms of team need. Tampa Bay was last in the league in stopping the run, drafting Luke Kuechly, Line-Backer out of Boston College will turn that around.

6) St. Louis Rams: This pick would be one of the fastest ones handed in to commissioner Roger Goodell, but if Matt Kalil is still on the board they might start pondering. Let's be serious though, the Rams need production from the Wide-Receiver position as they finished 30th in the league in passing. To make matters even worse, they only threw 9 touchdown passes. Drafting Justin Blackmon out of Oklahoma State will certainly help improve that horrific pass offense.

7) Jacksonville Jaguars: Here's a team that has last year's NFL leading rusher on it, but is picking in the top ten. In my eyes, they completely struck out last year with the Blaine Gabbert pick, but this year one of the best players will be handed to them. With that said, Jacksonville had a team defense that ranked 11th overall, so go to the offensive side of the ball and draft Matt Kalil, Left Tackle out of USC. He can protect Gabbert and block for the only valuable player on your team.

8) Miami Dolphins: It is no secret that Ryan Tannehill, the Quarter Back out of Texas A&M will be the selection here. My advise to Miami, do not trade up to draft him. Even though I would not draft him in the top 20, I understand the need for a franchise QB.

9) Carolina Panthers: If they can strike gold with another first round draft pick that panned out like last year (Cam Newton) this team will be on their way to the playoffs in no time. This team can score points with any team in the NFL, they finished 5th in scoring. I think they make a bit of a reach, but if it is a team need then how much of a reach is it? The Panthers will draft Stephon Gilmore, Corner Back from South Carolina.

10) Buffalo Bills: Last year I thought they should have drafted AJ Green, but they passed on him for Marcell Dareus, a defensive tackle. He had 5.5 sacks in his rookie season, but we all know the type of season Green had for Cincinnati. Even though statistically the Bills are worse on defense, offense wins games and even though they will probably take a lineman here, I am going to push the selection of Michael Floyd, Wide Receiver out of Notre Dame. This will finally give them a 1-2 punch at WR opposite of Stevie Johnson.

11) Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs would love to draft Kuechly, but with him long gone they will have to take an alternate route. A very good team with a high draft pick because of injuries last season will look to add a player with this pick that'll take them back to the playoffs. With Fletcher Cox, Defensive Tackle out of Mississippi State still on the board, this is a good alternative draft pick.

12) Seattle Seahawks: With a lot of defensive players on the board, the Seahawks will now just have to pick which one they like best. My guess is they will draft Defensive End Melvin Ingram, from South Carolina. If he is still on the board, then adding his versatility to the Seahawks will be something Pete Carroll can't pass up.

13) Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals would love for Floyd to fall to them, but in my case he won't be available. Since Riley Reiff is still on the board the Cardinals will jump all over this Tackle from Iowa. Maybe he can help keep Kevin Kolb healthy. If not, look for Arizona to be picking in the top 10 next year.

14) Dallas Cowboys: Boy did the 'Boys certainly get lucky here. The team's draft pick would be Alabama Safety, Mark Barron. He makes perfect sense for this team. They could use an offensive lineman, but that won't be solved til later in the draft. They strike gold if they go ahead with my prediction.

15) Philadelphia Eagles: Not only do the Eagles want Barron, but to have him go to a division rival is something that would not settle well for Philly fans. Expect them to try and trade up ahead of the Cowboys so they can select the safety from 'Bama. They also need an offensive tackle, but it doesn't look like they will get that here either. Sounds like they should trade down then, but staying at 15 I think the Eagles will draft Defensive Tackle, Dontari Poe out of Memphis. Here is a guy that should go higher, but might fall because he is not from a big time football program.

16) New York Jets: If this scenario plays out the Jets are going to do everything they can to trade down in the first round. In case that does not work out, I think they will be left making a reach with this selection. This is a playoff team with a few holes, fill the hole by selecting Defensive End and potentially Line-Backer Chandler Jones out of Syracuse. Not a "sexy" pick to say the least and I expect Jets fans in attendance to "Boo" the pick.

17) Cincinnati Bengals: Their first of two first round draft picks, if the draft plays out this way the Bengals will be drafting Offensive Guard, David DeCastro out of Stanford, before Goodell has a chance to even leave the stage from the prior pick.

18) San Diego Chargers: Here is a team that can play in the regular season with great success. However, come playoff time they continue to stub their toe. Keeping Phillip Rivers in the up and in the pocket provides San Diego with the best chance to win. With that said, drafting Tackle, Cordy Glenn from Georgia will be an ideal pick.

19) Chicago Bears: Quinton Coples, the Defensive End from North Carolina will be the selection here. Coples falling all the way to 19 is a complete shock, but with other players stock rising, someone's has to fall. The Bears would be happy to see him fall.

20) Tennessee Titans: With a huge need at Corner Back, I expect the pick to be Alabama Corner, Dre Kirkpatrick. Fills a team need and they get a stud player to fix up that defense that lost Cortland Finnegan.

21) Cincinnati Bengals: Back on the clock the Bengals will be looking at either a WR to go need to Green or draft a CB. With the signing of Terrance Newman and the baggage that CB Janoris Jenkins brings, I expect the Bengals to take WR Kendall Wright out of Baylor.

22) Cleveland Browns: After taking a stud RB earlier in the draft, the Browns would love to have selected Wright, but they sure won't mind "settling" for Jonathan Martin. The Offensive Tackle from Stanford will boost their line and help protect Colt.

23) Detroit Lions: Their season ended when Drew Brees and the Saints torched them in the NFC Wildcard round. Defense is their top priority and with the top two Corners off the board, they would love to add pass rushing Outside Linebacker/Defensive End, Courtney Upshaw out of Alabama.

24) Pittsburgh Steelers: Although this team could always use help on the offensive line, I expect them to take the player that has fallen to them. In this case it would be Defensive Tackle, Michael Brockers. An absolute beast out of LSU, will give them a nice back up to the forever aging Casey Hampton.

25) Denver Broncos: Denver would have selected Brockers if he had fallen to them. In this case the Broncos would be best suited to trade down. Keeping this pick is always an option and adding a TE would help out Peyton Manning, but with the recent news of Brian Dawkins retiring I expect them to pounce on Safety Harrison Smith, out of Notre Dame.

26) Houston Texans: The Texans finally made the playoffs, but since then they have done nothing but lose players in free agency and trades. Drafting Line Backer Dont'a Hightower, from Alabama would be incredibly "sexy." Look for them to snag a WR in a later round, if the draft plays out this way.

27) New England Patriots: The Patriots need a Defensive End, and with Nick Perry still on the board this pick makes too much sense. Drafting the DE from USC will keep that defense nice and young along with hopefully helping the pass defense out by bringing in a pass rusher.

28) Green Bay Packers: This team lost one game all regular season and yet they are all forgotten about because they did not even make it to the Super Bowl. If any team in the NFL is hungry to make it to the Super Bowl, it is this team. The pick will be a pass rusher, it's just a matter of which one? Defensive End Whitney Mercilus out of Illinois or Outside Linebacker Shea McClellin from Boise State. I'm selecting the guy from Boise, Shea McClellin.

29) Baltimore Ravens: Would love a safety here, but that is an absolute reach. Look for them to try and trade out of the first round. Look for this pick to be a Wisconsin Offensive Lineman. Will it be Kevin Zeitler or Peter Konz. Zeitler is a Guard and Konz is a Center. They could use either one, but I'm predicting Kevin Zeitler.

30) San Francisco Giants:  This team needs to an offense play maker and that they will do. Whether it is at Tight End with Coby Fleener or a Wide Receiver. Since Stephen Hill is still on the board the 49ers are going to select the WR out of Georgia Tech.

31) New England Patriots: Back on the clock and they would have loved to take Kevin Zeitler, but since he is gone I look for them to continue to bulk up on defense. Jerel Worthy, the Defensive Tackle from Michigan State is still on the board and look for him to learn behind one of the best in the game in Vince Wilfork.

32) New York Giants: The Super Bowl champs could go defense here, but with Coby Fleener still on the board I look for them to ruin the chance for the Indianapolis Colts to draft Andrew Luck and his favorite college target. The Giants will draft the Tight End and should be very excited about the pick.

That is Bryan Ferrer's, first round mock draft. There are a plethora of talented guys still on the board as the second round will certainly be an entertaining one as well.
